CPit Spotlight 2011
This next spotlight is of a man who is probably the most outgoing person in the pit. He loves to have fun and sarcasm is his middle name. Meet Samuel Ferrante! He just turned 22 and is an age-out veteran from New Jersey. He majors in finance and does not want to pursue anything more in music after this summer. Although he is not continuing in music, he has a very large background with drum crops and indoor percussion lines. Starting from 2005, he march the Skyliners, followed by the Spartans in 2006, moved to Spirit of Atlanta in 2007, then moved to the Cadets from 2008-2009 and in 2011. He has previously marched indoor percussion at United Percussion from 2006-2009. He took one year off and then continued again in the winter of 2010 - 2011. Sam's biggest goal for the end of the season is that the corps does the best they can and kick butt at every show. Since this is his last year marching drum corps, he would like to end it with a bang! Sam if a great part of the pit, he likes to have fun and makes sure that everyone in the pit is having fun.

Today was the first day in a long time we were able to do laundry, and it was also a free day!! So after finishing my laundry, we were all brought to the Riverwalk where we were let loose for a few hours. I was very excited to go into San Antonio because I really needed a little time to walk around and enjoy the beautiful weather outside. San Antonio was a very beautiful city and had a lot to do! If you have not been out there, I highly recommend it. The Riverwalk is absolutely beautiful. Below you can see a lot of pictures that I took:

The Alamo
The pit went on a long walk around San Antonio to try and find a Mexican restaurant, but we failed miserably when approaching every single hostess desk asking for a table for 15...every single place we went to had at least 45 minutes to an hour wait. There was no way we had any time to wait for that long. Unfortunately we did not get to get authentic Mexican food in San Antonio. The pit did however find a Fuddruckers (semi-fast food) and dined there. This was my first time ever being at a Fuddruckers. They have an extensive menu of burgers, chicken sandwiches, and sides. I got the fire-grilled smokehouse chicken. It was absolutely delicious.
We ate a Fuddruckers for dinner
After sitting down for our dinner at Fuddruckers, the corps was meeting at the local movie cinema in the mall to see whichever movie they wanted. Most of the corps saw Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2. I was extremely excited to see it because I saw part 1 last summer and I remember looking forward to see part 2 so soon. The movie was incredible and made me feel so much better now that I've seen all 8 movies.

Off to Dallas!!

Thought of the Day: "People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing - that's why we recommend it daily." - Zig Ziglar
