Location: Seattle, WA Day 3

Happy Fourth of July everyone!! Today was a parade day. As you can see from below, they decided to be very festive with the schedule board! We were up at 6am and got an early start to the day so that we could get our individual professional pictures done before the parade.

This was in the school's gym. Not sure what it meant but it was
pretty cool since the pit was sleeping in "The Pit".
Let's get ready for the parade! We did the Everett, WA parade. What does the pit do you ask? Well, we are the "Mobile Hydration Station". Any water the corps needs, we're there on hand with ice cold water. Once the corps is done playing and just marching for a little bit, we're there to give them water. You walk along side the corps through the entire parade and tend to their ever H2O need. It was a VERY fun job!

Here is a series of pictures from the parade:

Where all the water came from.
Filled with water bottles. Percussion on the left, brass on the right.
Snareline ready for the parade.
Quadline ready for the parade
Bassline ready for the parade.
All the UMass percussionists (except for Nate) got together for
a UMass-Cadets picture.
After the parade, we traveled to a local park and did a performance on the water (well not ON the water) for all the local townspeople. Another community performance that we do across the country. We played the entire show (standing still), and all the extra tunes that we have such as warm up music and encore tunes (ex. Don't Stop Believing). It was a very long and enjoyable performance. After the performance we loaded up and got ready for our 12 hour, 530 mile drive to Idaho!
I got flavored crushed ice before we left...cherry
to be exact.
